Project structure
The PhotoLED project consists of three technical work packages, where the technical development and validation of the new LED-based system of photometry is carried out. In addition, dedicated WPs are included for management and creating impact. WP1 concentrates on development of new white LED calibration spectra / illuminants that are the basis for the new calibration sources to be developed for luminous intensity / illuminance and luminous flux. WP2 develops new measurement methods, focusing on measuring illuminance of LED sources with novel PQED detectors without optical V( λ) filters, combined with high end spectral measurement for calibration of photometric instruments at national metrology institutes (NMIs). WP3 will focus on characterisation of the new LED standard lamps for intercomparisons and developing methods aimed at test laboratories, including AC version of the luminous flux transfer standard lamp, as well as a new revolutionary fisheye camera method that allows measuring angular distribution of SSL products for determining spatial correction factors directly with integrating spheres. The new sources and methods will be tested in two comparisons to be carried out in WP2 and WP3.
